Job Description Summary

Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Current registration in Radiology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Registry eligible by ARRT in MRI and must obtain registry within 1 year of hire.
Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
Proactively maintains and renews ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.

Must obtain MRI registration within 1 year of hire date.

Experience: 0-2 years

Skills: General MRI exams, implants, elastography, defecography, and rotation to other locations as needed for training and staffing purposes.

Job Description

Performs MRI examinations in accordance with established protocols.

Selects appropriate imaging protocols and verifies patient identity using two identifiers.

Completes and verifies patient history and screening forms prior to imaging.

Accurately performs and documents exams in RIS and PACS, including creatinine levels, contrast usage, and supplies as applicable.

Reviews images for quality and completeness prior to radiologist interpretation.

Ensures timely transmission of images to PACS for physician review.

Maintains image quality, productivity, and efficient patient workflow.

Adheres to departmental standards and modality-specific protocols.

Provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.

Documents and communicates safety and performance events, including contrast reactions, extravasation, system downtime, and patient or provider concerns in the reporting system.

Adheres to all MRI safety requirements, including zone protocols, implant screening, and ferromagnetic safety practices, as well as radiation safety standards for CT.

Upholds compliance and organizational standards.

Performs routine equipment quality control checks, assisting with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and placing tickets as needed.

Supports onboarding and training of staff and students.

Facilitates a positive work and learning environment.

Participates in performance improvement initiatives related to quality, efficiency, patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, and safety.

Participates in staff meetings, lunch and learns, and quality meetings.

Maintains a professional demeanor in attitude, appearance, and communication.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.  Work Experience: 0-2 years of modality specific experience required.   Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT MRI registration required within one year. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA  recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
