About this Occupational Therapist | Sensory, Regulation and Motor Skills role at Mediix
Occupational Therapist | Sensory, Regulation and Motor Skills
Location: Central Coast, NSW (Wyong area)
The role
Most OT rooms look the same. This one comes with a bigger space down the hall. You’d join an established allied health service on the Central Coast that is looking to keep building its OT offering, and you’d have a real say in how it grows. You’d deliver one to one OT in a calm, inclusive setting. The larger movement space is there when it suits a participant’s goals, and you can leave it alone if it doesn’t. Sessions run just like they would in any standard OT clinic, with no need to use any specialised equipment.
What you’ll be doing
- One to one OT sessions with children, teenagers and adults
- Support for sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, coordination and daily living skills
- Initial assessments, goal setting and ongoing progress reviews
- Working with NDIS participants and private clients, with referrals also coming from schools, specialists and other allied health professionals
- Reporting and collaboration with parents, carers, schools, support coordinators and the wider treatment team
- The option to use a larger movement space and equipment where it fits a participant’s goals
What’s on offer
- Full time or part time, as an employee or a contractor, whichever suits you
- Flexible days and hours, so you can build a week that works for you
- A start date that works for the right person
- A welcoming, engaging environment that clients and families enjoy coming to
- Room to grow with the service and help shape the allied health side as it develops
- A mix of NDIS and private clients
- Experienced OTs and suitable early career OTs both welcome
- An initial conversation to work out what arrangement suits both sides
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Experienced or early career, with an interest in sensory, regulation and motor skill work
- Warm, engaging and confident working one to one with children and families
- Comfortable writing clear NDIS reports and goals
- Full Australian working rights
- Based on the Central Coast or happy to travel to the area
Locations
- Wyong: a relaxed Central Coast town with a train line to Sydney and Newcastle, plenty of parkland and bush, and the lakes and beaches only a short drive away.
