About this Night Shift Heavy Equipment Operator (Tacoma, WA) role at Waste Connections
Recovery One, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety-minded Equipment Operator to join our growing operation at the Port of Tacoma. This is a hands-on position operating a variety of heavy equipment while supporting daily yard operations and material processing activities.

Location: Port of Tacoma, WA
Pay: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour
Shift Options:
- 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
- 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
Schedule varies depending on assigned shift length and operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate loaders, excavators, yard goats, and wood grinders safely and efficiently.
- Load, move, sort, and process materials throughout the facility.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical concerns.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
- Assist with general yard and operational duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience with loaders, excavators, yard goats, grinders, or similar equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to work safely in a busy industrial environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the shift.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
