About this Night Registered Veterinary Nurse role at Medivet
This is an amazing opportunity to join a leading Manchester referral clinic to our night nursing team.
Led by a Specialist Surgeon Tom Cox who provides orthopaedic and neurosurgery referrals across the North West. Supported by an amazing team of AVP Vets, Nurses and support staff ,Dogwood Referrals is a practice that stands out.
You will provide overnight care and support for our surgical patients. With support from on call veterinary surgeons, your role is to ensure patient comfort, safety and recovery are optimal.
The role is working 4 nights, Monday to Thursday, 6pm to 8am then 10 nights off giving you a great work life balance.

Role Accountabilities
Exceptional care is at the heart of everything we do at Dogwood Referrals. That’s the care for our patients, our clients and for each other – we really want to make a positive difference through every interaction we have.
In this role you will:
Provide overnight care for hospitalised patients neurology and orthopaedic)
Administer medications (IV, IM, SQ, PO) and perform treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor vital signs, assess patient condition, and report changes to the veterinarian promptly.
Perform diagnostic sample collection (blood, urine, faeces), place IV catheters, and run in-house lab tests as needed.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Assist in emergency procedures and patient triage when needed.
Communicate effectively with Veterinarians, RVN’s to ensure continuity of care.
Provide compassionate, low-stress handling of patients during overnight stays.
Ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked working environment.
Your Skills and Experience
RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital, preferably in a referral setting
Full clean UK Driver’s License
Ability to work independently with confidence and sound clinical judgment.
Comfortable working overnight hours
