WDAF-TV FOX4 in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Part-Time News Video Editor to join our newsroom.

The News Video Editor is responsible for editing video content for broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms. This position collaborates with reporters, photographers, producers, and newsroom leadership to create compelling content for FOX4 newscasts, digital platforms, and WDAF+ streaming programming.

• Edit news stories, packages, VOs, VOSOTs, teases, promos, and special projects using Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Produce and edit content for WDAF+ streaming channels and digital platforms, and other newsroom content initiatives.

• Collaborate with reporters, photographers, producers, and managers throughout the content creation process to create accurate, engaging, and visually compelling content.

• Strong writing, grammar, and copy-editing skills for broadcast and streaming platforms.

• Manage multiple assignments while meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment

• Maintain editing workstations and assist with workflow troubleshooting.

• Stay informed on newsroom procedures, style guidelines, and current events.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills

• High school diploma required; college coursework in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or related field preferred.

• Minimum two years of video editing experience, preferably in a television news environment.

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro.

• Experience with newsroom systems, such as Bitcentral and Latakoo.

• Strong writing, grammar, and copy-editing skills with the ability to write VO and VOSOT scripts.

• Knowledge of AP Style and newsroom editorial standards.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Experience producing content for digital and streaming platforms.

• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as news coverage requires.
