THE OPPORTUNITY
The Network Operations Center Technician will help maintain continuous visibility into network and infrastructure performance. Working within a 24/7 operational environment, this person will monitor systems, investigate alerts, document incidents, and coordinate timely escalation to keep services available and customers informed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor network, server, environmental, and facility alerts through centralized monitoring platforms
- Triage incidents, perform first-line diagnostics, and escalate based on severity and established procedures
- Track tickets, event timelines, actions, handoffs, and resolution details with accuracy
- Support basic network and systems tasks, including connectivity checks, port validation, and remote-hands coordination
- Communicate service status and incident updates to internal teams, vendors, and authorized customers
- Follow change-management, access-control, security, and incident-response procedures
- Maintain shift logs, dashboards, knowledge articles, and operating documentation
- Participate in post-incident reviews and recommend improvements to monitoring and response workflows
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of network operations, technical support, data center, telecom, or systems administration experience
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, monitoring, and common network troubleshooting methods
- Experience with ticketing, monitoring, and incident-management platforms
- CCNA, Network+, ITIL Foundation, or comparable certification preferred
- Calm, clear communication and disciplined documentation during high-priority incidents
- Availability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 environment
