We are looking for a proactive infrastructure professional who enjoys solving complex problems, working across teams, and improving the reliability and efficiency of enterprise platforms.

This role is not focused on a single technology. Instead, you will be responsible for the lifecycle, modernization, automation, and operational excellence of platforms that support network operations, observability, identity services, and infrastructure management.

Success in this role requires strong technical skills, but equally important is the ability to understand business impact, navigate ambiguity, identify risks early, and drive solutions across multiple stakeholders.

What You will do

You will be responsible for the health, modernization, automation, and continuous improvement of critical infrastructure platforms supporting network operations, observability, identity services, and enterprise infrastructure management.

There are two halves to this role: First, contributing to current projects where you analyze problems and tech issues, offer solutions, and test, modify, automate, and integrate systems. And second, beyond project delivery, you will help shape the future of the platforms and services under your responsibility. This role isn’t specific to any one platform, so you’ll need a good feel for all of them. And because of this, you’ll experience variety and growth at Kyndryl that you won’t find anywhere else.

You will often be involved at the earliest stages of a project, helping determine not only how something can be done, but whether it should be done and what risks need to be considered before execution begins.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluating technical challenges and determining the best path forward.
• Analyzing business, operational, and technical requirements.
• Identifying technical, operational, and timeline risks early in the project lifecycle.
• Designing, testing, integrating, and automating solutions across multiple platforms.
• Supporting application onboarding, migrations, upgrades, and platform transformations.
• Contributing to platform integrations using APIs, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Defining platform roadmaps and modernization strategies.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Managing platform lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, vendor support, and decommissioning.
• Improving automation capabilities and reducing operational complexity.
• Supporting compliance, audit, vulnerability remediation, and security initiatives.
• Working with leadership and partnering teams to ensure technology investments align with business objectives.

Required Technical and Professional Experience

Candidates typically come from one or more of the following backgrounds:

• Platform Engineering
• Infrastructure Engineering
• Network Engineering with automation experience
• DevOps Engineering
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
• Enterprise Monitoring and Observability

 Experience with the following technologies is highly valued:

• Windows Administration
• Linux Administration
• Ansible / AWX
• ServiceNow integrations
• GitHub / GitLab
• REST APIs
• Infrastructure as Code

• Experience supporting vulnerability management, security remediation, penetration testing, audit readiness, and compliance requirements

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for network provisioning

• In depth knowledge of Azure cloud hosting architecture, experience with AWS is a bonus

• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems sufficient to support vendor-hosted and appliance-based network management platforms

• Experience consuming and developing REST API integrations.

• Must have experience driving working across teams

• Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce conclusions and responses.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written

• Strong process improvement experience

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Experience developing production-grade Python automation solutions.

• Experience with Cisco Management tools such as Cisco ISE, Catalyst Center, CMX, Prime.

• Hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems architecture in public cloud AWS domain

• Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts and network management platforms.

• Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities

• Logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail

• Experience integrating enterprise platforms through REST APIs.

• Experience working with cloud-hosted application architectures.

• Experience managing vendor-supported applications and appliances.

• Experience with application lifecycle management, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.

• Experience supporting platform modernization initiatives.
