What we’re looking for:

We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Procurement Manager to lead Freo Group’s procurement function nationally.

Based at our Hope Valley Corporate Office and reporting to the Vice President, Finance, this role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that deliver sustainable cost savings, supply chain resilience, strong contract governance and supplier performance across the business.

This is a key leadership role that will partner closely with Operations, Fleet, Maintenance, Commercial, Finance, HSE and Regional Leadership teams to ensure procurement solutions support operational requirements, safety standards and business objectives.

What you’ll bring to the team:

You will bring strong procurement, sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship experience, ideally gained within a multi-site operational environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline.

  • A professional procurement qualification, such as CIPS or equivalent, highly regarded.

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain or commercial management.

  • Demonstrated experience leading procurement functions in a multi-site operational business.

  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management capability.

  • Experience managing high-value supplier contracts and strategic sourcing projects.

  • Advanced analytical, financial and reporting capability.

  • Experience within heavy industry, mining services, transport, engineering or industrial services, highly desirable.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.

  • A commitment to safety, compliance, ethical procurement practices and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing:

As the National Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for leading and improving procurement capability across Freo Group.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing the national procurement strategy aligned to business objectives.

  • Establishing procurement policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

  • Identifying and delivering procurement savings across key spend categories.

  • Leading strategic sourcing activities, tender processes and supplier negotiations.

  • Developing strong supplier partnerships that deliver value, innovation and service excellence.

  • Managing supplier performance through KPI frameworks, reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Negotiating commercial agreements, framework contracts and supplier arrangements.

  • Monitoring contract performance, renewals, pricing reviews and compliance obligations.

  • Driving cost optimisation and total cost of ownership improvements across procurement categories.

  • Analysing spend data, market trends and supplier performance to support effective decision-making.

  • Supporting capital expenditure projects through sourcing and commercial evaluation.

  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, delegations of authority, regulatory requirements and ethical standards.

  • Supporting Modern Slavery, ESG and supplier due diligence obligations.

  • Developing procurement dashboards, reporting and performance metrics for Executive Leadership.

  • Leading, coaching and developing procurement team members to build capability and drive accountability.
