Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will contribute to managing communications and/or negotiations between Fannie Mae and clients regarding loans and other investments.


THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Multifamily Underwriting Analyst – Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities: 

  • Review Lender loan packages and assist in underwriting multifamily loans prior to their acquisition.
  • Gather and assess the strengths, risks, and mitigants of each loan to determine the supportable loan sizing parameters.
  • Work with internal and external partners to size debt financing within acceptable risk tolerances based on the market, sponsor, property performance, and other risk characteristics while adhering to internal risk tolerances and guidance.
  • Recommend an appropriate lending decision and provide documentation of the negotiated decision.
  • Approve issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer.
  • Enhance your current multifamily underwriting skills by leveraging the experience of coworkers while working through diverse and challenging multifamily deals across various property types.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experience

  • 2 years of multifamily credit underwriting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of credit and financial analysis skills relating to multifamily properties
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, results driven environment
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team-player, but also be willing to also be a self-starter, when needed
  • Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability by learning and responsibly applying new techniques, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of DUS/GSE multifamily underwriting guidelines
  • Familiarity with a range of multifamily property types
  • Developing risk assessment/mitigation abilities
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand and evaluate borrower/organizational structures
  • Advanced Excel analysis and/or modeling skills

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
