Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

Monterrey, Nuevo León

Availability to travel: Torreón, Saltillo y Chihuahua

Bring your science. Build meaningful connections. Make an impact.

What if your scientific expertise could help turn knowledge into meaningful changes for patients?

As our Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Cardiometabolic, you will be part of the connection between science and the healthcare community.

Based in Monterrey, you will spend your time building trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and scientific experts, exchanging knowledge, listening to their perspectives and bringing valuable insights back into AstraZeneca.

This is a role for someone who is curious, enjoys meaningful scientific conversations and wants to see their expertise translate into better healthcare and patient outcomes. The underlying role profile places scientific exchange, external partnerships and patient outcomes at the heart of the position.

What will you do?

Your days will be diverse, but your purpose will remain the same: connect science with the needs of the healthcare ecosystem.

You will:

  • Build trusted, peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and scientific experts.
  • Lead meaningful scientific conversations around disease management, emerging therapies and clinical evidence.
  • Listen to the external medical community and transform their perspectives into actionable insights for our Medical teams.
  • Participate in scientific exchanges, advisory boards, expert panels and other medical education activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and contribute your scientific perspective to the Medical strategy.
  • Support evidence-generation initiatives and scientific collaborations where relevant.
  • Explore digital and innovative ways to make scientific engagement more effective and patient-centric.

What will help you thrive in this role?

We're looking for someone who combines scientific curiosity with the ability to connect with people.

You'll bring:

  • A scientific and/or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to build credible and collaborative professional relationships.
  • Analytical thinking and strong project management skills.
  • Confidence engaging with different internal and external stakeholders.
  • Availability to travel according to the needs of the territory.

Even better if you have

  • An M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D. or other relevant doctoral-level qualification.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry, clinical/preclinical research or a related scientific environment.
  • Experience engaging healthcare professionals and scientific experts.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Science Liaison.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Why this opportunity?

Because being an MSL is about more than sharing scientific information.

It's about listening, connecting ideas, building trusted partnerships and helping scientific evidence reach the conversations where it can make a difference.

If you enjoy being close to science, connecting with experts and turning insights into opportunities to improve patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
