Your next opportunity:

Lead the day-to-day delivery of Carer Gateway Services in Mount Isa, where you’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact through operational leadership, coaching and support of Carer Hub Navigators. Working closely with the Service Integration Lead, you’ll play a key role in coordinating local operations, workforce coverage and service demand while ensuring safe, high-quality and carer-centred outcomes.

A key part of your role will be building strong local community connections. You’ll engage with carers, community organisations, service providers and referral partners to strengthen support networks, improve access and ensure services reflect the needs of the local community. You’ll also contribute to initiatives that promote carer resilience, inclusion, connection and advocacy, using culturally safe and strengths based approaches.

Based on site at the Mount Isa Carer Hub, this is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of unpaid carers across the region. You’ll bring confident people leadership, strong communication, relationship building and problem solving skills, together with a sound understanding of community development and a commitment to delivering connected, inclusive and responsive services.

You come with:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., social science, community services, health or human services) or a related discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience working within one or more of the carer, mental health, community, disability or health sectors.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills, along with an understanding of the local community.
  • Understanding of relevant government policy and directions in carer services and reform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital systems. 

Your compliance experience:

  • Current valid Driver’s License and the ability to undertake travel for the role
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Right to Work within Australia and 100 points of ID
  • Satisfactory National Police Records Check (valid within the last 12 months)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Available to participate in ‘out of hours’ activities as required
