Your mission starts here at Raytheon Australia! Right now, we are seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Mission Directors and Mission Leads to support the design, integration and delivery of advanced and integrated test and training.

Raytheon Australia supports the delivery of ADF test and training through several programs, including the Mobile Threat Training Emitter System (MTTES), Exercise Control (EXCON) and the Joint Adversarial Test and Training Services (JATTS). Mission Directors are a key position across these programs, working closely with the customer to design, integrate and deliver complex multi-domain training activities in support of the ADF.

Mission Directors are responsible for integrating customer requirements, threat replication capabilities, operational intelligence and training outcomes into realistic and challenging mission scenarios. It requires a deep appreciation of ADF and coalition operational concepts, threat systems, electronic warfare, C2 systems and intelligence integration, as well as an appreciation of the ADF training continuum and advanced force generation activities, including of the Air Warfare Instructor Course. Mission Director’s will be expected to travel to support the delivery of training, either co-located with the end user or co-located with RAUS personnel and directing the conduct of training scenarios.

Advanced knowledge of Military Air Operations, electronic warfare, electromagnetic spectrum operations, C2ISR, operational intelligence or training system development and delivery is highly valued.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with ADF customers, industry partners and internal stakeholders to ensure successful mission outcomes.
  • Lead mission planning, execution and debrief activities involving multiple stakeholders, platforms, systems and simulation environments.
  • Integrate and employ mission management, simulation and battle management systems to enable the execution and evaluation of complex test and training activities.
  • Exercise leadership in complex, dynamic environments, balancing customer requirements, operational risk, test and training objectives and enterprise priorities.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and relevant post-mission data to enable and enhance end user debrief and analysis.
  • Prepare written reports, briefings, analysis and tailored mission products to Defence customers/operators.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, management and mentoring to team members.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide the allocation of resources within the enterprise, ensuring priorities are aligned to ADF requirements.
  • Support the development of proposals to the Commonwealth of Australia to address ADF capability needs and grow the organisation.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Air Operations and Operational Planning
    • Electronic warfare and electromagnetic spectrum operations
    • C2ISR systems and integration
    • Intelligence support to operations
    • Synthetic and live-virtual-constructive training environments
    • Exercise planning and operational experimentation
    • Multi-domain operations and integrated effects planning
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a team.
  • Strongly developed interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders at an operational level.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
  • Eligible to hold and maintain an Australian Government security clearance. NV1 is required, with eligibility for higher clearances highly desirable. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
