Starting Pay: $32/hour — higher depending on experience

Position Overview

We are hiring a Miscellaneous Metals Foreman to oversee field installation crews working on stairs, railings, and other miscellaneous metal projects. The Foreman will coordinate daily field activities, manage crew and materials, maintain quality standards, and help ensure each job is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise crews installing stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metal components at job sites.
  • Direct daily field operations and assign work to crew members.
  • Coordinate installation activities with the General Contractor and other site personnel.
  • Review blueprints and project information to confirm proper layout, measurements, and installation.
  • Plan the placement and use of crews, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Confirm required crew certifications are current and available.
  • Enforce project-specific safety requirements and applicable site rules.
  • Act as the field safety representative and ensure proper PPE and site safety procedures are followed.
  • Conduct and review Tool-Box Shop Talks and reinforce safe work practices.
  • Complete required daily field reports and vehicle inspection documentation.
  • Inspect and maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
  • Monitor installation quality and address issues as they arise.
  • Represent the installation team professionally while coordinating work on site.
  • Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Field Supervisor strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and safety documentation.
  • Strong practical math skills, including working with angles, degrees, dimensions, and standard measurements.
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding requirements.
  • Familiarity with welding processes including:
    • SMAW
    • FCAW
    • GMAW
    • GTAW
    • Current welding certifications or the ability to successfully pass a weld test.
    • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and safety awareness.
    • Ability to work effectively in a field construction environment.
  • Work Requirements

  • Must be located near Georgetown, DE; Sterling, VA; Baltimore, MD; or Washington, DC.
  • Field-based position with daily work at construction and installation sites.
  • Must be comfortable supervising crews and working around construction equipment and materials.
