About this Ministry Associate, Young Adults role at Village Church
The Young Adults Associate helps create a thriving community for young adults at Village Church by fostering connection, discipleship, leadership development, and opportunities to engage in the broader life of the church.
This role combines relational ministry, teaching, event planning, and leadership development, with a focus on helping young adults take meaningful next steps in their faith and build authentic community.
WORK WEEK
- 40 hrs/week - flexible home/office
- Occasional evenings and weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Build meaningful relationships with young adults through regular 1:1 discipleship, shepherding, and pastoral care.
- Plan and execute the Young Adults ministry calendar, including bi-monthly Young Adult gatherings and an annual retreat.
- Preach and teach at a minimum of 75% of Young Adult gatherings, engaging young adults both intellectually and spiritually with the Gospel.
- Recruit, equip, and disciple volunteer leaders who can effectively lead and disciple others.
- Develop and maintain Young Adult Community Groups and the YA Mentorship Network.
- Help young adults connect into the broader life of Village Church through serving, giving, discipleship courses, Community Groups, baptism, and other ministry opportunities.
- Build relationships and maintain a ministry presence on local university campuses, including Trinity Western University.
- Partner with the Senior Youth team to create a strong transition from Youth Ministry into Young Adults.
- Foster a welcoming culture where young adults can build authentic friendships and invite unchurched friends and skeptics into community.
- Ensure ministry communication, registration, group information, and follow-up are organized and up to date.
- Follow through on next steps with individuals, leaders, and ministry initiatives.
- Demonstrate behaviour consistent with the Village Church Standard of Conduct.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Philosophically aligned with Village Church's mission, vision, and strategy.
- Meets the character qualifications outlined in 1 Timothy and Titus.
- A committed follower of Jesus who is actively growing in faith, prayer, community, and discipleship.
- Experience serving in a local church; vocational ministry experience is an asset but not required.
- Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to connect authentically with young adults from a variety of backgrounds.
- Able to teach and communicate the Gospel clearly and thoughtfully.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, equip, and lead volunteers.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple ministry initiatives and timelines.
- Understands young adult culture and can thoughtfully engage those who are skeptical, curious, or unfamiliar with the church.
- Fulfills the duties and expectations of Village Church membership as outlined in the This is Village Church course.

- Grow as leaders and disciples who are equipped to disciple others.
Benefits
Salary: $50,000- $57,000
