About this Tech Lead (Siemens Opcenter) role at Accenture
We are looking for an experienced Tech Lead with deep expertise in the Siemens Opcenter platform. In this role you will take end-to-end technical ownership of manufacturing execution and middleware integration projects. You will work at the intersection of process engineering, software architecture, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that digital manufacturing solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.
Due to increasing project demand, tight delivery timelines, and the highly specialized nature of Siemens MES technologies, we are looking for an experienced professional who can join the team with minimal ramp-up time and contribute quickly in client-facing international projects.
Key responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing execution solutions on Siemens Opcenter Execution Process Enterprise (MES).
- Own the middleware architecture and integration layer using Opcenter Connect MOM, ensuring seamless connectivity between shop-floor systems and enterprise applications (ERP, PLM, SCADA, etc.).
- Define and govern technical standards, coding guidelines, and architecture decision records across the team.
- Conduct regular code and architecture reviews; mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with product owners, process engineers, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and manage scope.
- Provide technical estimates, identify risks, and proactively communicate blockers.
- Support pre-sales activities: solution scoping, effort estimation, and technical presentations.
- Act as technical point of contact for client-side counterparts and system integrators.
Solution Architecture & Integration
- Translate complex manufacturing and business requirements into scalable Opcenter configurations and custom developments.
- Design integration flows between Opcenter Connect MOM and third-party systems (ERP, LIMS, automation layers).
- Ensure data integrity, traceability, and auditability across the entire MES/MOM landscape.
- Evaluate and recommend technology choices that balance time-to-value with long-term maintainability.
Required Skills & Experience:
Must-Have
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter Execution Process Enterprise (MES) – configuration, customisation, and production rollouts.
- Solid experience with Opcenter Connect MOM (middleware): integration design, adapter development, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, shop-floor workflows, and ISA-95 / ISA-88 standards.
- Proven track record in a Tech Lead or senior engineering role: architecture ownership, team mentoring, stakeholder communication.
- Experience with RESTful / SOAP API integration and message-broker patterns (e.g., MQ, Kafka, or equivalent).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
Nice-to-Have
- Proficiency in Mendix low-code platform (application development, widget creation, API integration).
- Siemens Opcenter certifications (Execution, Connect MOM).
- Mendix certification (Intermediate or Advanced).
- Experience in regulated industries (pharma, automotive, food & beverage).
- Familiarity with SAP ERP integration patterns.
- Knowledge of OPC-UA, MQTT, or other industrial communication protocols.
- Exposure to cloud deployment of MES/MOM components (Azure / AWS).
