Assist physicians in providing high-quality patient care, while exhibiting strong customer service skills to all patients and the overall practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for:

• Answering phones, scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out from their appointment, and coordinating specialist appointments for patients

• Collecting patient balances, copays, and credit cards at time of service

• Reviewing lists of patients who need appointments and calling to schedule when due

• Verifying demographics and insurance carrier information for every patient

• Assisting patients with Kiosk sign in

• Complying with OSHA and DOH standards

• Scheduling, coordinating, and tracking STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations

• Adhering to Brown Health Medical Group guidelines for protecting patients’ demographic, clinical, and financial information

• Providing superior customer service and outstanding patient care

• Attending meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflows

• Performing other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

• High school diploma required.

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology required.

• Must be very organized.

• Must have excellent communication and customer service skills and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of patients and families.

EXPERIENCE

• Six months' experience in a medical office.
