Medical Director, Laboratory

As a Medical Director, Laboratory at ICON, you will design and analyse clinical trials, interpreting complex medical data, and contribute to the advancement of innovative treatments and therapies. You will also ensure that regulatory and safety standards are met by ICON Labs.

Office location: Loyang office 60% and home 40% (30 Loyang way, Unit 02/12-15, Singapore 508769)

What You Will Do:

Your focus will be on driving medical affairs performance, ensuring quality, and building capability across your area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing medical leadership and oversight for laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and quality standards.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement laboratory protocols for clinical trials.

  • Interpreting laboratory data and providing medical expertise to support study objectives and patient safety.

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies and external partners to ensure compliance and best practices.

  • Directing the operations of the Singapore Laboratory, including staff management and resource allocation.

Your Profile:

You will bring significant medical affairs experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Singapore citizen or permanent resident holder

  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with pathology/anatomic pathology/clinical pathology in a relevant specialty.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical laboratory medicine, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.

  • Singapore Clinical Governance Officer (Preferred)

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for laboratory operations, including CLIA, CAP, and relevant international standards.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in managing laboratory staff and overseeing laboratory operations.

  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 10%)
