Presbyterian Medical Group's Atrisco Family Practice Clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our growing primary care team. In this role, you will support providers and care teams by delivering high-quality patient care, coordinating clinical services, and helping create an exceptional patient experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting.This position offers a built-in career ladder, allowing qualified candidates to be considered for either the Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II level based on education, training, and experience. Medical Assistant I employees have the opportunity to progress to Medical Assistant II through completion of required training and competency requirements.

Responsibilities:
*Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
*Prepares patient for rooming and exam
*Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
*Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
*Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
*Provides basic education to patients
*Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
*Performs office-based procedures
*Performs basic foot care
*Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
*Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
*May perform regulatory audits
*Assists with visit closure
*Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
*May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training
Qualifications:
*High school diploma or equivalent required
*Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
*Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
*BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required
*Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
*Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.
