SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Medical Affairs Specialist is a foundational Medical Affairs role that provides scientific, clinical, and operational support across the Tissue Reconstruction portfolio. Under the guidance of experienced Medical Affairs professionals, the position supports scientific communications, medical information activities, scientific education material development, publication support, medical review processes, including promotional material review, and the communication of clinical evidence. The role collaborates across functions to ensure medical accuracy and effective execution of Medical Affairs initiatives while focusing on operational excellence, capability development, and serving as a developmental pathway toward a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scientific and Medical Support

• Assist as a scientific and medical resource for internal stakeholders regarding assigned products, technologies, and therapeutic areas.
• Support the evaluation and summary of scientific literature, clinical evidence, and competitive intelligence under the guidance of Medical Affairs leadership.
• Monitor developments in tissue reconstruction, regenerative medicine, wound care, and related therapeutic areas to support Medical Affairs activities.
• Assist in translating scientific findings into practical insights for internal stakeholders.

Medical Communications and Information

• Support the development and review of medical information materials, scientific communications, scientific education materials, and product-related documentation.
• Support medical review processes, including the review of promotional and non-promotional materials, to ensure medical accuracy and scientific consistency.
• Assist in the preparation and review of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, presentations, and publication materials.
• Support responses to medical information requests and scientific inquiries.

Evidence Generation and Clinical Support

• Support evidence-generation activities through literature reviews, publication support activities, and documentation coordination under the guidance of Medical Affairs leadership.
• Support the review of clinical evidence to assist Medical Affairs planning and communication activities.
• Assist with the compilation and organization of scientific and clinical information to support internal decision-making.
• Provide scientific support for research initiatives and post-market evidence assessment activities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Research & Development, Marketing, Professional Education, Market Access, and Commercial teams.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and provide scientific input on assigned initiatives.
• Support the development of scientific training and educational materials for internal stakeholders.
• Support cross-functional teams by providing medical and scientific input on assigned projects and initiatives.

Operational Excellence

• Support execution of Medical Affairs projects, timelines, deliverables, medical information processes, and Medical Affairs operational systems and databases.
• Maintain Medical Affairs documentation, databases, CRM systems, and associated records to support departmental activities and compliance requirements.

• Maintain knowledge of applicable medical device regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.
• Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements.
• Effectively manage multiple priorities and projects in a collaborative environment.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Advanced clinical or health sciences degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, DNP, PA-C, NP, RN or other relevant health sciences degree) or a master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 0-3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, Clinical Research, healthcare, or related industry roles.
• Experience in medical devices, biologics, wound care, regenerative medicine, tissue reconstruction, surgical technologies, or related therapeutic areas preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate clinical literature and scientific data.
• Experience supporting scientific communications, publications, medical education, or medical information activities preferred.
• Familiarity with medical device regulatory and compliance environments.

Travel Requirements

• Limited travel (up to 10%) for internal meetings, training programs, scientific congresses, and business-related activities. Travel may include weekend days.

Salary Pay Range:

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
