Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

We are looking for motivated and reliable Mechanical Tradespeople to join our team. Working a lifestyle roster and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be effectively maintaining modern, heavy earth moving plant and equipment to a high standard.

Safety focused with a positive attitude you will be focused on quality, achieving availability and reliability targets and driving maintenance performance.

The essential requirements for success in this role:

• A Mechanical Trade Qualification (Certificate III Engineering, Mechanical Trade or equivalent)
• Experience in an Open Cut Coal Mining environment
• Skilled working on heavy mobile equipment such as Caterpillar, Liebherr and/or Hitachi
• Experience and understanding of working under safety rules, policies and procedures  
• A team player that’s able work well in a dynamic environment
• Solid communication skills
• Experience with maintenance management systems such as SAP (desirable)
