What you’ll do
• Pump Maintenance & Repair: Perform rebuilds and overhauls on multiple styles of pumps, including stripping pumps from drawings/manuals, measuring, reassembly, balancing, calculating tolerances, pressure testing, and completing final inspection reports.
• Field Service & Workshop Support: Work predominantly in Sydney, Hunter Valley, and Central West areas, providing field service with workshop backup. Manage 2-3 site shutdown projects per month requiring travel and multiple days away.
• Quality & Documentation: Complete repairs in line with the Service Centre Quality Manual. Document wear, corrosion, and faults with photos to support condition assessments and generate detailed inspection reports.
• Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations for improvements to current products, services, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
• Daily Operations: Conduct daily maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on critical equipment such as pumps, crushers, valves, and conveyors to ensure minimal downtime.
• Travel Requirements: Regular travel to various sites with allowances provided; flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves:
• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in workshop or onsite environments
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals for pump maintenance
• Manual driver’s license
Nice-to-haves:
• Experience working on pumps or heavy industrial mining equipment
• High Risk Forklift ticket
• Overhead crane and doggers ticket
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
