Required Skills & Experience

    Experience- 4yrs-8yrs

    • Demonstrable experience in operating within highly regulated sectors, ideally Space, Defence or Aerospace.
    • Working knowledge of Catia V5 and PLM software (Enovia preferred). Fundamental understanding of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering principals
    • Good understanding of Engineering Development lifecycles.
    • Perform Hand calculations to validate the structural and thermal design
    • Perform concept review and design review (PDR, CDR)
    • Good general knowledge of mechanical design and conception
    • Ensure designs meet manufacturing, assembly, and integration requirements. Good experience in BOM creation and Engineering Change processes (with consideration given to implications of changes managing through the process) Knowledge of relevant drawing standards • Working knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing best practice
    • Familiarity with FEA tools.

    Key Skills

    • CATIA V5 ,DFM, Jigs and Fixtures Structural analysis (static, modal analysis, shocks, vibrations),
    • Stack Up Analysis SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, Thermal and Flow Analysis Weight Analysis

    Job Responsibilities

    • Carry out mechanical design activities in a team environment with other engineers.
    • Work collaboratively with production and procurement to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
    • Trials and integration support
    • Work collaboratively with production and procurement to produce cost effective, easy to manufacture design solutions.
    • Monitor compliance of designs against target costs and lead time
    • Contributes to the Change Management of the product development Knowledge of manufacturing processes, like machining, fabrication, sheet metal, surface treatments is required
