The Position

• Remains current in organic synthesis. Explores synthetic routes to specific target compounds with the assistance of supervisors. Has good understanding of the reactivity and functional group compatibility of intermediates and reagents employed, and is able to identify and solve many reaction problems.
• Prepares, scales up and purify new compounds and known compounds for in vitro and in vivo evaluation in a timely manner. Maintains an accurate and current lab notebook and analytical data according; records all necessary information.
• Understands and effectively conducts laboratory experiments utilizing established internal and existing literature procedures. Evaluates and solves synthetic problems with the assistance of supervisors; characterizes reaction products. Is a skilled user of all standard laboratory apparatus for synthesis and purification.
• Writes up experimental procedures and data for publication or patent filing.
• Shares information about results and status of work in an accurate, timely and proactive manner within the lab team, and upon request within the chemistry project team.
• Understands infrastructure of chemistry department and neighboring disciplines and knows whom to contact to find solutions. Demonstrates initiative, resourcefulness and teamwork.
• Daily operation of automation platform, consumables management.
• Assist automation team to arrange the work tasks of the platform.
• Participate in the automation platform maintenance. 
• Maintains a safe and organized work environment. Complies with relevant SOP’s.
