Position Summary
The Material Handler supports field and warehouse operations by receiving, organizing, and delivering construction materials, tools, and equipment to job sites. This role ensures materials are staged, tracked, and delivered accurately and on time, supporting project schedules and minimizing downtime. The Material Handler plays a key role in maintaining safety, efficiency, and organization within the warehouse and on-site environments.
Key Responsibilities
Load, unload, move, and stage materials (HVAC equipment, piping, sheet metal, plumbing fixtures, tools, etc.) for warehouse and job site needs.
Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
Receive and verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips; report discrepancies or damages.
Organize and maintain warehouse inventory in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
Prepare and deliver materials to project sites as requested by project managers and superintendents.
Assist in tracking and maintaining inventory records in company systems.
Follow company safety policies and OSHA standards while handling materials and equipment.
Support warehouse staff and field teams with additional duties as needed (tool inventory, deliveries, returns, etc.).
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a material handler, warehouse associate, or similar role in construction preferred.
Familiarity with construction materials, specifically mechanical/HVAC, piping, and plumbing, a plus.
Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting equipment (certification preferred).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor in varying conditions.
Active and current CDL license required.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Basic computer and mobile device skills for inventory and communication systems.
