POSITION / PURPOSE:

Develop and execute an annual marketing strategy designed to strengthen the property brand, increase consumer visitation and engagement, support retailer sales, and achieve property business objectives. Establish annual marketing priorities, campaigns and initiatives based on market trends, consumer behavior, property needs and available resources. Partner with Corporate Marketing and property leadership to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.

PRINCIPAL JOB ACTIVITIES:

• Event & Experience Management – oversee the annual planning, coordination, marketing and execution of property events and activations, including vendor management, sponsorship fulfillment, entertainment, permits, production, and tenant communication. Evaluate event performance and make recommendations to continually improve the consumer experience and return on investment.
• Digital Marketing – oversee and execute the property's digital marketing presence, including social media, website, email marketing, digital advertising and other emerging channels. Develop content strategies and campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, visitation and retailer exposure while continually evaluating new opportunities and technologies. Where applicable, partner with 3rd party agencies to facilitate best-in-class execution.
• Public Relations – effectively manage and utilize partner agency on development and execution of PR strategy, including media relations, event development, press release generation (events; seasonal fashion; gift giving; business news) and emergency response.
• Retailer Relations & Sales Support – serve as a primary marketing resource for property retailers. Develop strong relationships with tenants and provide marketing tools, promotional opportunities, events, social media support, media exposure and other initiatives designed to drive awareness and sales. Communicate marketing plans and opportunities to tenants and encourage retailer participation and collaboration.
• Brand Development – build a brand that is consistent and meaningful through all elements of property touchpoints.  Brand messaging should appeal to shoppers, merchants, and community partners. As needed, work with partner agencies and consultants on re-branding and re-positioning efforts.
• Community & Business Development – cultivate relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, tourism organizations, media, influencers, nonprofits and community leaders to increase property's visibility, relevance and economic impact within the Kansas City market. Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, co-marketing and community initiatives.
• Performance, Analytics & Reporting – establish and monitor key performance indicators for marketing campaigns, events, digital channels and revenue-generating initiatives. Utilize traffic, sales, social, web, demographic and other available data to evaluate performance, demonstrate return on investment and inform future marketing strategies.
• Project  & Budget Management – develop and manage spending within timelines.
• Ancillary Revenue – develop and execute strategies to generate incremental property revenue through sponsorships, advertising, short-term pop-ups, temporary activations, events, partnerships and other unique opportunities. Identify prospective partners, negotiate agreements, coordinate execution and fulfillment, and track revenue performance against established goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education / Experience in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.  Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
• 3 to 7 years marketing experience in real estate, retailer or consumer driven company
• Understanding of event/PR strategy and development
• Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills
• Self-starter; intrinsically motivated. Strong desire to succeed
• Excellent communicator, both verbal & written
• Strong ability to adapt solutions to new situations requiring reasoning based on experience or interpretation
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and the Internet
• Strong analytical skills
• Team orientation
• Must be willing and available to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

The compensation for the position is: $ 137,870.00 - $162,200.00
