Our Headquarters are located on the Torrey Pines Mesa, in La Jolla, California at the center of the biotech hub. Our Manufacturing facility is in Sorrento Valley.

 

Position Summary:

As a Manufacturing Specialist 1, you will be responsible for producing high quality flow cells by carefully following standard operating procedures. You must be able to handle multiple tasks and perform them with the highest regard for quality.  

We are seeking a self-driven, pro-active individual who enjoys a unique opportunity to do both routine work and to help create manufacturing processes from the ground up. We are looking for someone that pays significant attention to detail and carefully documents all observations and methodology.  

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture and characterize flow cells according to protocols and ensure that production scheduled is maintained. Guaranty that all quality checks are performed and followed appropriately.   
  • Maintain excellent record keeping (GDP). Meticulously document production into batch records and report/communicate all production observations.  
  • Able to execute against batch records, work instructions and SOPs.
  • Assist with quality control flow cell testing. 
  • Prepare basic laboratory tasks – prepare buffer solutions by pipetting different solvents, carefully handle reagents, and assist with lab cleanliness and organization. 
  • Assemble flow cells using hand tools and fixtures.
  • Complete routine tasks with maximum precision, accountability, and reliability. Demonstrates high level of detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Consults with management regarding assignments and works independently at main manufacturing site to support production.
  • Assist in day-to-day setup and running of lab operations. Maintain lab in accordance with all EH&S programs and always follow safety and quality standards. 
  • Keep equipment operational by following protocols/SOPs.
  • Operates in fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a scientific field preferred but not required.   
  • 0-2 years of research laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Experience in doing basic calculation is required.
  • Experience with following SOPs and batch records.
  • Able to multi-task and rapidly learn new techniques and approaches.
  • MUST be physically able to handle chemicals (up to 20lbs) safely and properly.  
  • Capable of handling and pipetting small volumes (e.g. <10 µL). 
  • Must be passionate, fast learner, team-oriented and detail-oriented person with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communications skills (Word, Power point, Excel and Smartsheet).
  • Self-motivated and able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Highly organized and flexible.  

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $20.00 - $24.47.  Additionally, this role is eligible for to receive equity as part of the compensation package. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Should the level of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable salary range may be updated accordingly.
