We are looking for an experienced Technical Diligence expert to strengthen our Iberian Power & Renewables practice. You will lead and contribute to high-impact advisory engagements on M&A investments, working directly with the largest investors.

This is a client-facing, senior consulting role combining deep technical knowledge of transmission and distribution networks with strong analytical, commercial, and communication skills. You will work closely with WoodMac's broader energy team and can shape our TDD offering as the business grows.

Work is primarily based in our Madrid office, with travel for client meetings and, occasionally, project assignments on client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consulting Technical Due Diligence projects.
  • Produce high-quality analysis, reports, and client presentations, translating complex technical and regulatory issues into clear, actionable insights.
  • Lead and mentor and support the development of junior team members.
  • Represent WoodMac at industry events, client workshops, and expert panels.

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Deep technical knowledge, including permitting phase, energy yield assessments.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to structure complex problems, build and interpret models, and draw clear conclusions from data.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to explain complex technical and regulatory topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing project teams, budgets, and deliverables, as well as developing junior colleagues.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced advisory environment.
  • Right to live and work in Spain.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and performance-related bonus.
  • The opportunity to work on high-visibility projects with leading utilities, investors, and regulators shaping the energy transition in Spain and beyond.
  • A collaborative, international team environment with genuine opportunities for professional growth.
  • Flexible working arrangements.

Application: please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your interest in the role and relevant technical experience.
