Work Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day activities and supervision of Trauma Registry staff in order to meet data submission, reporting, and compliance requirements in support of the goals of the AU Health Trauma Program. Responsible for the coordination of all registry activities and performs functions of case finding, data retrieval, analysis, follow-up and dissemination of trauma registry data.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Manages day-to-day administrative operations of the Trauma Registry department to include managing Registry staff, invoice processing, supply ordering, and human resources documentation. Accurately abstracts and enters date into the trauma registry software.
Oversees registry validation process and downloads to the state's Trauma Patient Registry, Georgia Quality Improvement Program (GQIP) and national TQIP.
Onboards new Trauma Registrars and oversees registry continuing education activities.
Actively participates in statewide Trauma Registry Subcommittee.
Assists with data requests for Multidisciplinary Trauma Conferences. Ensures compliance with the American College of Surgeons' (ACS) verification standards, Committee on Trauma requirements and the state of Georgia requirements to maintain and support a designated Trauma Program.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education:

• Associates Health Information Management or Associates Nursing

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):

All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

CSTR and CAISS preferred. Upon Hire Preferred

Required Minimum Experience:

Additional years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of minimum education requirement. Required and
Minimum 3 years experience in trauma registry Required and
Minimum 5 years experience in trauma registry Preferred

Required Minimum Skills:

Experience with TQIP data standards, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Knowledge of medical record-keeping procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, and applicable regulations.
Knowledge of personal computer operations and computer skills necessary to perform trauma data storage and retrieval
