The Manager of Quality and Outcomes Management is responsible for supporting organizational wide approach to achieve optimal better healthcare value and quality, operational and clinical efficiencies. Vital components to this position are the identification of opportunities to improve, organizational performance and outcomes implementing actions to minimize variation. The manager of clinical quality manages the reporting, data collection, analysis, tracking and trending of data reporting to departmental leaders for quality and performance improvement initiatives. The Manager serves as an quality consultant to management, staff, and providers in the areas of clinical quality improvement, quality assurance, and quality control. performance improvement teams.

Departmental Specific Summary


Essential Duties

• Leadership: Utilizes effective critical thinking skills, organization, prioritization, planning, personnel management, operational efficiency, decision-making, and teaching. Oversight for case review, data collection and analysis of staff both concurrently and retrospectively to ensure brevity and effective summaries of all important information. Quality controls data to ensure accuracy and reliability before it is reported to any individuals, committees or external agencies. Ensures reports utilizing internal or external benchmarks for data display are completed by staff.
• Planning and Organization: Independently coordinates and integrates all required CMS, Joint Commission or applicable quality management metrics on an intradepartmental, interdepartmental and hospital wide level Works closely with the Medical Staff coordinating the accuracy and timely abstraction, data entry, analysis and submission of data of staff—trained in data collection and abstraction of quality initiatives and mandates from state, and federal mandates
• Consultation: Helps facilitate team processes for hospital performance improvement teams as applicable. Leads at least one process improvement team related to core measures. Acts as a resource to and provides consultation to other members of the healthcare team on an ongoing basis and per request on performance improvement issues or initiatives Assists in the preparation of accreditation of all hospital programs in collaboration with the Accreditation Manager.
• Information technology: Utilizes statistical principles as needed to compose accurate meaningful reports and to support the validity of the data. Assists with audits, data retrieval and analyses for all applicable Medical Staff services and as assigned.
• Education: Certification and continued education maintained in Quality and Performance Improvement initiatives to ensure the highest compliance is maintained.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Req Bachelor’s Degree Degree in nursing or a related field
• OR equivalent experience in a related field (phys assistance, pre-med, etc).
• Req 5 years Supervisory position in an acute care setting.
• Req Critical thinking skills and organization in prioritizing a workload of multiple tasks.
• Req Skilled in data analysis using external benchmarks and comparative evidenced based practices.
• Req Organization/time management skills.
• Req Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.
• Req Commitment to continuous quality improvement and results driven outcomes.
• Req Knowledge of data entry into a database and the ability to analyze the information to improve organizational performance.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

• Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $138,445.00 - $228,434.00.
