Position Overview: 

Manager, Power Delivery is responsible for advancing Montera’s path-to-power strategy across development, construction, energization, and operations. This role coordinates utility infrastructure, power delivery schedules, commercial agreements, market analysis, and cross-functional execution to ensure power-related risks are identified early, decisions are well-supported, and utility milestones remain aligned with project and customer commitments. 

The ideal candidate brings strong program-management discipline, practical utility and power-market knowledge, and the ability to translate technical, commercial, legal, and regulatory inputs into clear action plans. Success in this role means utility engagements are well-coordinated, energization risks are visible and actively managed, agreement obligations are tracked, and leadership has concise, decision-ready information. 

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables: 

Utility, Infrastructure & Commercial Coordination 

• Lead utility, transmission, generation, and power-delivery workstreams from development through interconnection, construction, energization, service commencement, and operational readiness. 

• Manage relationships, deliverables, and open issues across utilities, transmission providers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders. 

• Develop and maintain path-to-power schedules, energization milestones, budgets, risk registers, action logs, and critical-path dependencies across multiple projects. 

• Support utility interconnection, substation, transmission, distribution, equipment procurement, commissioning, and service-readiness activities. 

• Manage the development, negotiation, execution, and administration of utility, energy, and infrastructure agreements, including electric service agreements, interconnection agreements, facilities extension agreements, construction agreements, amendments, and related commercial arrangements. 

• Track and administer agreement obligations, including deliverables, milestone payments, collateral, notices, reporting requirements, deadlines, approvals, and internal ownership. 

• Coordinate technical, legal, commercial, finance, procurement, construction, and operations teams to maintain alignment, resolve issues, and escalate risks requiring leadership decisions. 

• Prepare clear leadership and customer-facing updates on power delivery status, energization risks, cost impacts, utility requirements, and required decisions. 

Energy Strategy & Market Support 

• Support development and implementation of portfolio and site-specific energy strategies, including analysis of utility service, market supply, onsite generation, storage, and other power solutions. 

• Manage load forecasting, tariff and rate analysis, energy budgeting, market assessments, commercial evaluations, and scenario-based decision support. 

• Lead supplier solicitations, bid evaluations, and commercial comparisons for power supply, energy market services, and related advisory or operational support. 

• Coordinate implementation of approved energy procurement and risk-management programs, including contract administration, collateral tracking, reporting, and internal handoffs. 

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop metering, settlement, billing, and energy reporting processes that support customer, operational, and financial requirements. 

• Monitor utility, ISO/RTO, regulatory, tariff, policy, and large-load requirements that may affect project delivery, customer commitments, operating costs, or future procurement optionality. 

• Prepare forecasts, performance reporting, executive summaries, approval materials, and decision-support packages that translate complex power issues into clear recommendations. 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Construction Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 

• 6–10+ years of experience managing utility, energy, power infrastructure, industrial, mission-critical, large-load, or data center programs. 

• Working knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, utility interconnection processes, substations, generation, metering, tariffs, rate structures, utility agreements, and large-load service requirements. 

• Experience coordinating utility providers, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, finance, engineering, construction, operations, customers, and executive stakeholders. 

• Experience supporting contract administration, obligation tracking, schedule management, budgeting, risk tracking, procurement coordination, stakeholder reporting, and executive decision support. 

• Ability to interpret technical, commercial, legal, regulatory, and financial inputs and translate them into clear action plans, recommendations, and communications. 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise updates, issue summaries, meeting materials, and leadership-facing recommendations. 

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active workstreams in a fast-paced development and delivery environment. 

Preferred Skills: 

• Experience with hyperscale data centers, utilities, energy infrastructure developers, IPPs, large-load customers, or other energy-intensive operating environments. 

• Experience with substations, transmission, distribution, onsite generation, energy storage, microgrids, customer-build infrastructure, or utility asset-transfer arrangements. 

• Familiarity with regulated and competitive power markets, energy procurement, scheduling, settlements, billing, hedging, collateral, and customer energy reporting. 

• Experience supporting commissioning, energization, operational readiness, customer service commencement, or transition-to-operations activities. 

• Familiarity with ISO/RTO processes, utility tariffs, state regulatory proceedings, NERC requirements, or large-load policy developments. 

• PMP, PE, CEM, or other relevant professional credential. 

Work Environment & Physical Demands:  

• Travel Requirements: This role requires travel approximately 15% of the time for meetings, conferences, site visits, customer or partner engagements, and internal team activities. Travel may include domestic and, as needed, international destinations. Periodic visits to Montera’s main office or other designated locations may also be required for onboarding, training, planning sessions, or team meetings. While traveling, the employee may work in a variety of professional environments, including corporate offices, conference centers, customer sites, hotels, and other business settings. The ability to remain organized, responsive, and productive while traveling is important for success in this role. 

• Remote Work: When not traveling or attending required in-person activities, this role is primarily remote. The employee is expected to maintain a professional, reliable remote work setup, including consistent internet access, appropriate availability during working hours, and a workspace that supports focused work, confidential conversations, and virtual meetings. 

• Physical Demands: This role primarily involves standard office and computer-based work. The employee may be required to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer and other office equipment, participate in virtual and in-person meetings, and communicate regularly by phone, video, email, and messaging platforms. During travel or events, the employee may occasionally need to move through airports, offices, conference venues, or customer sites and carry typical work materials such as a laptop, bag, or presentation materials.

Our compensation ranges are informed by market data and aligned to job level and role. When making hiring and compensation decisions, we consider a variety of factors, including skills, experience, education, training, competencies, and overall business needs.

The reasonable compensation range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000 per year.
