What You’ll Be Part Of
- Support Supply Chain team with material readiness planning, tooling and factory capacity planning, and SOP ramp up plans to ensure suppliers deliver to demand forecasts and schedule at NPI SOP launch.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Specify requirements to ODM/CM suppliers and Tier 2 suppliers for Material Readiness, Tooling and Factory Capacity and SOP Ramp UP planning to align new product launch production requirements with customer demand forecasts.
- Partner with Mechanical Engineering and Development and Supplier Quality teams to perform Design for Assembly assessments, First Article Inspection of key mechanical parts and subassemblies, and Capability Studies on mechanical processes (mold injection, CNC, die casting, stamping processes) new programs at DV thru PV stages. Provide mechanical and process improvement recommendations.
- Foster teamwork with engineering project management, product development and supplier quality teams to ensure total alignment of efforts and objectives.
- Collaborate with sourcing, quality, engineering, program management and suppliers to address blocking issues that may delay NPI SOP schedules and or ramp plans due to material and capacity issues.
- Drive resolutions and escalation to supplier and Tier 2 supplier material and capacity issues.
- Communicate and report NPI status to project team on supplier material readiness and capacity planning.
- Advocate product standardization, utilization, and supply chain best practices by utilizing and leveraging distribution, logistical, and operational capabilities.
- Work with Supply Chain, Sourcing and Value Engineering teams to identify potential efficiency improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and deploy project/change management plans when 1) an existing product is transferred to a new/different supplier and 2) Material EOL, Component Change, and or Component Substitutions are made. Leverage and coordinate the Harman cross-functional team resources to execute plans.
- Support Harman cross-functional teams on projects related to changes or modifications to existing product designs and or factory processes as a result of Value Engineering, quality and or compliance and regulatory considerations.
- Ensure that any of the above changes are effectively implemented at ODM/CM suppliers and Tier 2 suppliers.
What Makes You A Strong Fit
- BSEE / BSME.
- 7+ years in supply chain/ supplier management with proven and significant results.
- Headphone manufacturing experience is an advantage;
- Strong hands-on knowledge in the use of quality tools and methods; Six Sigma preferred.
- Strong electronics background in audio/video technology and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in production process control and cosmetic and finish requirements.
- Proven interpersonal, communication, and influence skills.
- Excellent bilingual ability in Chinese and English, verbal and written.
- Customer focus with urgency, responsiveness and initiative to action.
- Data and fact driven with strong analytical skills.
- Results driven and strives to meeting or exceeding goals and objectives.
- Strong team player and builds trust and confidence with direct reports, internal teams and suppliers.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Graduate degree preferred.
- Black Belt / Lean Expert certification preferred.
- Experience with ISO standards and supplier quality auditing.
- Strong background in Statistical Process Control, capability analysis (Cp, Cpk), Process FMEA.
