Schedule:

  • Full-Time

  • Monday-Friday

  • 8:00am - 5:00pm

  • Must be flexible to support 2nd and 3rd shift teams and weekends. Scheduled week every quarter on call.

Responsible for the overall day to day operations, planning, directing, coordinating and evaluation of the department including the development of department goals and objectives that are consistent with the Nebraska Medicine mission. Prepare, monitor, and have accountability for the department budgets. Manage the work and performance of general maintenance technicians and multi-skilled trades, to include HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Locksmiths, among others. Work collaboratively with all levels of the hospital interdisciplinary team and promote the team concept with their department and hospital-wide. Measure, assess and continuously improve the departments’ performance with the mission of promoting and maintaining an environment and culture that enables the organization to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals.

Required Qualifications:

-Minimum of five years’ experience in building maintenance or related formal training required.

-Minimum of three years leadership experience required.

- Bachelor's degree in business management, interior design/interior architecture, architecture, construction management, engineering or related field OR progressive related experience in the field (1 year experience equals 1 year of education) required.

-Demonstrated leadership and management skills required.

-Moderate to advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, and business case development.

-Excellent written, verbal communication and public speaking skills.

-Ability to lead several projects/programs/initiatives simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Joint Commission and CMS experience preferred.

-Master's degree preferred.

-Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification preferred.

-Expertise in the areas of Joint Commission regulations including the requirements of Life Safety and Environment of Care Standard preferred.

-Understand computer management system and spreadsheet.
