SUMMARY                                                                                   

The ERP Master Data Manager is a pivotal role within Westlake’s Master Data Center of Excellence team. This leader serves as the primary point of contact for Corporate and Global leadership to address and resolve ERP data quality issues across both SAP & JDE platforms. The manager partners closely with other Data Management Leaders and business teams to optimize data management practices, align with the Global Template, and ensure consistent, high-quality data across all domains. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to process improvement, strong cross-functional leadership, and the ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and manage processes for reviewing, tracking, resolving, and escalating data quality issues across Business Segments, data domains, and ensuring consistent review and resolution.

  • Champion business processes that centralize data management practices to drive operational efficiency and improve data quality outcomes, leveraging people, process, and technology.

  • Lead the creation and implementation of global policies and procedures to support data quality improvements.

  • Identify, anticipate, and deliver training to staff in plants and master data team(s) to prevent business interruptions.

  • Define and operationalize enterprise stewardship throughout the data lifecycle, including creating data dictionaries, documenting data quality rules, monitoring exceptions, remediating issues, and drafting data standards.

  • Collaborate with other Data Management Leaders and stakeholders to align data management activities with the Global Template.

  • Create and maintain training materials; conduct one-on-one and group training sessions to mentor staff on data management activities.

  • Analyze and report on data quality metrics, trends, and exceptions using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Lead and influence business teams to adopt best practices in data management and governance.

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting professional development and ensuring team members have the necessary resources and support.

  • Manage conflict resolution, set clear expectations, and align individual goals with overall data governance objectives.

  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality and operational processes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or Master’s degree (M.S.) in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Proven track record of success in cross-functional decision-making, issue resolution, and process improvement within a complex manufacturing environment.

  • Strong experience analyzing and reporting data, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent project management, team leadership, and influencing skills.

  • Effective communication with executives and stakeholders, both formal and informal.

  • Experience creating training materials and delivering training to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to mentor and influence non-direct reports to improve execution of daily tasks inside IT systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration and support professional development.

  • Experience managing conflict resolution and aligning goals with organizational objectives.

  • Knowledge of data governance, stewardship, and data quality best practices.

  • Experience with data dictionaries, data standards, and documentation is a plus.

  • Professional certifications in Data Management, Data Governance (e.g., DAMA, CDMP), or Project Management (e.g., PMP) are preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS                                                                                                             

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an open office concept. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
