What You'll Do 

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, Business Development, the Manager, Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership and functional oversight for Rising Edge Group’s marketing, branding, communications, and digital engagement activities. The Manager establishes the organization’s marketing direction, priorities, standards, budgets, and performance expectations and ensures that approved initiatives are effectively executed by internal team members and external service providers.


The Manager will establish and periodically review departmental responsibilities, workflows, resource requirements, and decision-making authority to maintain clear accountability across marketing, communications, digital engagement, business development support, and events.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:  

Strategic Leadership & Marketing Direction

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the organization's annual marketing and communications strategy.
  • Works closely with Rising Edge executive and regional leaders to establish marketing priorities, goals, and performance metrics aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead brand positioning, corporate messaging, and communications planning.
  • Identify opportunities to increase brand awareness, market presence, recruitment effectiveness, and business development outcomes.
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic marketing guidance to executive leadership.

Key Activities:

  • Annual strategy development, approval coordination, and implementation oversight
  • Corporate messaging development
  • Marketing performance reporting and KPI analysis
  • Market research and competitive intelligence
  • Budget planning and management

Brand Management & Corporate Communications


Responsibilities:

  • Establish and govern Rising Edge Group’s brand positioning, messaging architecture, visual identity standards, and communications protocols.
  • Establish standards and review controls that maintain consistency across internal and external communication channels
  • Develop and oversee high-profile communications, executive presentations, and corporate messaging.
  • Define approval requirements for routine, high-profile, sensitive, and public-facing communications.

  • Corporate profile management
  • Brand governance and standards enforcement
  • Executive and leadership communications
  • Recruitment and employer branding initiatives
  • Public relations and media support
  • Internal communications strategy

Business Development & Proposal Support


Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business Development and Estimating to establish key messages, differentiators, and communication strategies for priority opportunities.
  • Provide strategic review and approval of high-value or high-profile proposals, presentations, and pursuit materials.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of reusable business development content, including project profiles, corporate qualifications, resumes, case studies, and presentation materials.

  • Pursuit support and RFP content review
  • Case studies and project success stories

Digital Marketing & Content Strategy


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the organization's digital marketing strategy and online presence.
  • Oversee website development and content strategy.
  • Manage CRM optimization, analytics, SEO, and social media programs.
  • Develop integrated campaigns to support corporate objectives.

Key Activities:

  • Website strategy and content governance
  • Social media strategy, governance, and performance oversight
  • SEO and SEM initiatives
  • Analytics and performance reporting
  • Content calendar governance and priority setting

Events, Sponsorships & External Engagement


Responsibilities:

  • Establish the strategic objectives, participation criteria, budgets, and expected outcomes for conferences, trade shows, sponsorships, awards, and corporate events.
  • Approve significant event and sponsorship commitments and evaluate results against business development and brand objectives.

Key Activities:

  • Trade show and conference strategy and portfolio oversight
  • Strategic oversight of client and stakeholder events
  • Industry award submissions
  • Sponsorship evaluations and activation
  • Vendor and agency selection, scope approval, and performance oversight
  • Post-event reporting and ROI tracking

People Leadership & Team Development

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop marketing and communications team members.
  • Establish clear priorities, expectations, and performance objectives.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across marketing initiatives.
  • Support succession planning and department growth.

  • Team leadership and development

  • Professional development planning

Requirements

What We're Looking For  

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Professional designation in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, or Public Relations is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, branding, or business development support.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience.
  • Experience within the utility, energy, construction, engineering, or industrial sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success leading integrated marketing and communications programs.
  • Experience supporting business development, proposals, and client pursuits.
  • Experience managing websites, CRM platforms, digital marketing, and social media programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Advanced technical writing and proposal development capabilities.
  • Expertise in brand management, communications, and digital marketing.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM platforms, and marketing technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
