About this Business Development Manager- IPOs, Listings & Private Mrkts role at LSEG
Role Profile
The Equity Primary Markets team for the Americas communicates the following benefits to companies, their investors and advisors and helps guide them through the process of accessing growth capital and liquidity through London:
We attract companies to complete IPOs, secondary listings or use London Stock Exchange's new Private Securities Market for private secondaries
The Americas team has attracted close to 120 Americas companies to list in London in last 10 years with the majority from the US and Canada. The London Stock Exchange has the highest proportion of international companies among its issuers of any major exchange
London has specific advantages in terms of scale, cost, litigation risk and investor quality which are attractive to US, Canadian and Latin American issuers as the US market increasingly focuses on a narrow set of issuers from a scale and industry perspective
London has also proved an effective stepping-stone to a US listing for Americas companies once appropriate scale is achieved by being a lower cost IPO entry point to high-quality institutional capital
Adding a London secondary listing for US or Canadian public company offers access to a new large pool of currently inaccessible capital and is straightforward with modest additional cost and regulatory burden and new fast-track listing pathways
We are innovating in private markets with the new Private Securities Market which uses our public markets auction technology and automated clearing and settlement systems, where companies "can enjoy the benefits of being public for one day" before reverting again to private status. The UK’s regulated PISCES private secondaries regime also mandates a limited minimum level of disclosure which alleviates the information asymmetry inherent in secondaries transactions
We aim to raise awareness about these specific advantages as we build and strengthen relationships with key partners and influencers that support London’s capital markets, including but not limited to sovereign wealth funds, private equity, venture capital, investment banks, law firms, audit firms and PR advisers
We also aim to enhance LSE’s markets to ensure we provide companies seeking admission to the London Stock Exchange with an industry leading client experience and journey
