Job Description:

Duties:
Perform skilled facility maintenance and repairs, including carpentry, HVAC, flooring, drywall, electrical, plumbing, locksmithing, and painting.
Install, repair, and maintain locks, and security hardware throughout the facility.
Oversee preventative maintenance and safety inspections to ensure a safe, secure, and functional environment.
Supervise inmate maintenance porters while maintaining accountability of tools and work areas.
Complete building alterations and repairs, including framing, concrete finishing, and flooring.
Assist with seasonal duties such as lawn care and snow removal.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, HVAC, welding, or other maintenance/construction trade and one year of experience in building maintenance or a mechanical trade. Experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis; OR an associate degree or equivalent vocational education in HVAC and one year experience servicing/maintaining/repairing HVAC systems. Experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
Other: Must have valid driver's license. Must be able to work an on-call rotation. Must be able to lift 50lbs with assistance. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in the order: a medical exam and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
