The Maintenance Manager, Powertrain leads 24/7 Maintenance and Reliability execution across AMP-2 Drive Unit and HV Battery shops, building the organization, CMMS, PM/PdM system, AM strategy, spares strategy, shift model and technical Saudization development pipeline from commissioning through volume production.
Mission: Deliver safe, capable, launch ready and sustainable Powertrain operations with local technical capability.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance operating system
- Own safe 24/7 response, shift coverage, escalation, tier routines and maintenance handover.
- Deliver uptime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog and cost performance.
- Establish standard breakdown, emergency-work, defect-elimination and return-to-service governance.
- Deliver AM strategy
Reliability & TPM
- Deploy asset criticality, RCM, PM optimization, CBM/PdM and chronic-loss elimination with Reliability Engineering.
- Own RCA quality and countermeasure verification for high-impact and repeat failures.
- Partner with Production on AM Levels 1–3, CIL, centerlines and operator equipment care.
CMMS, planning & spares
- Own CMMS governance, asset/BOM/task-list, planning discipline and shutdown readiness.
- Own critical-spares, repairables, obsolescence, vendor lead time and inventory-health strategy.
People, budget & launch
- Build and develop supervisors, engineers, planners, team leads and technicians; define competency/certification architecture.
- Own Opex, spare Capex, service contracts and supplier performance.
- Own maintenance readiness for FAT/SAT, safe launch, run-at-rate, capacity verification and future variants.
Enterprise, launch & workforce expectations
- Safety: zero bypass of LOTO, guarding, interlocks, HV controls or approved work instructions.
- Quality: protect product conformity, traceability and calibrated-tool discipline; contain abnormalities and preserve objective evidence.
- Delivery: support stable flow, takt/cycle achievement and rapid, structured escalation of constraints.
- Cost: reduce scrap, rework, downtime, energy and consumable losses through data-based countermeasures.
- People: build Saudi national capability through coaching, cross-training and knowledge transfer.
- Continuous improvement: participate in tier meetings, 5S, Kaizen, QRQC and closed-loop corrective action.
- Launch: Interfaces with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Automation/Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, Supply Chain, IT/OT, HR/L&D and equipment suppliers as applicable.
Skills:
- Maintenance/reliability leadership: RCM, PM optimization, CBM/PdM, RCA, AM, etc
- High-automation production equipment and CMMS governance
- Organization design, shift execution and technical talent development
- Budget, contracts and supplier management
- Executive communication and crisis leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering
- 10+ years in industrial maintenance/reliability with 4+ years leading functions
- High-automation automotive/EV and greenfield-launch experience
- Strong CMMS/TPM record
- English fluency
- Experience developing local technical talent in a multicultural workforce
- Must be able to work around automated equipment and, where authorized, high-voltage Powertrain products.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering
- Fluency also in Arabic
- CMRP, TPM, Autonomous Maintenance and Lean/Six Sigma credentials
Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
