About this Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Utilities) role at Linah Group
Job Description :
- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly, performing root cause analysis ands executing necessary repairs.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately
- Ensure performing RCA on problem solving
- Ensure critical equipment is fully operational during high-demand months (e.g., Barhi and Medjool harvest).
- Prioritize maintenance tasks based on production schedules and operational urgency.
- Coordinate closely with production and quality teams for planned shutdowns.
- Monitor and maintain utilities including air compressors, steam network, cooling and HVAC systems.
- Ensure all utilities operate within defined performance and safety parameters.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards during maintenance interventions.
- Use appropriate cleaning and disinfection procedures before and after work on production lines
- Maintain specific mechanical compliance items under hygiene standards: Lube-free pneumatics, food-grade lubricant usage, and sanitary welding standards.
- Monitor Spare parts consumption and raise requests to replenish critical stock.
- Contribute to cost control by optimizing spare parts usage and identifying alternatives where applicable.
- Identify recurring failures and propose solutions to improve equipment reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis, Kaizen events, and engineering modifications.
- Apply Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO), PPE, and other safety measures during maintenance work.
- Report and escalate safety risks or equipment abnormalities promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 3-5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in food processing, FMCG, or agricultural products.
- Proven experience with maintenance of conveyors, Production lines , Xray, AHUs, Cooling units, sorters, metal detectors, mixers, chocolate production line , baking systems, and packaging lines.
- Working knowledge of utilities such as compressors, chillers, pumps
- Familiarity with food safety requirements (e.g., hygiene design, equipment sanitation) in maintenance work.
- Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and basic troubleshooting tools.
- Additional certificates in maintenance systems (e.g., TPM, CMMS) are considered a plus
