The Acute Spine clinic, is now hiring an organized and efficient Medical Assistant to work at our clinics in Boise and Nampa!

Position Summary & Highlights:

• This MA position will support an established physician in a fast-paced high-volume clinic.

• The Acute Spine team treats the following conditions: neuropathic pain, joint pain, inflammatory and osteoarthritic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, chronic neck and back pain, and cancer related pain.

• Our board certified surgeons and neurosurgeons dedicate themselves to providing quality care for a wide range of conditions involving the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. They guide each patient through an individualized treatment plan with skills and knowledge that enhance recovery at every level.

• From advanced medical care and innovative therapies to personalized service, this convenient, comprehensive treatment center is dedicated to excellence in health care for back fitness.

What You Will Do:

• You will support a very busy and established physician. At the Nampa clinic you will work 1:1 with the physician and Patient Service Representative in a small clinic environment near the physical therapy clinic. In Boise, you will work out of the Boise Pain Care Center with other clinical staff.

• You will serve a specialized patient population requiring coordinated care, timely assessment, patient education, procedural support, and ongoing communication.

• In addition, to typical MA duties, you will collect medical history, help with chart prep, referral review and tracking, conduct prior authorizations, and set up for procedures.

• An ideal candidate for this position has high compassion for patient care, is a motivated self-starter, highly organized and efficient, dependable, and a team player.

• You will also be comfortable communicating with patients who may not always be understanding and still be able to offer a gold standard of care.

• You will also have an interest in the spine and nerve field, and helping others who can present with more challenging diagnosis.

Work Schedule:

• 40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour days, Mondays - Thursdays, Fridays off.

• Nampa Clinic: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesday mornings

• Boise Clinic: Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays

• The position typically works 6:45am - 5:30pm.

• Shift start and end time can vary based on provider's schedule and clinic needs.

• Boise Clinic: 1055 N. Curtis Road, Boise, ID 83704 - Boise Regional Medical Center, South Tower, 6th Floor

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.

• MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)

  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)

  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)

  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)

  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)

  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)

• New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.

• Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.

• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

• *EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
