Leidos’ Undersea Systems Division is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Logistics Professional in San Diego. The ideal candidate will have strong logistics, procurement, and administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

The Logistics Professional will work closely with the Project Coordinator (PC), Deputy Project Manager (DPM), and the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Teams supporting the Spindrift and Sculpin contracts. This position will conduct procurement & logistic activities, travel support, vendor management, and other administrative functions necessary to successfully execute the contracts.

The ability to identify issues, communicate effectively, and develop practical solutions is essential to the success of this position.

This position will require the candidate to maintain a Secret Clearance.

This position will require the candidate to work on-site at NIWC Pacific, Bayside on a 9/80B schedule (80 hours of work in nine days over two weeks, allowing for every other Friday off) to align with the NIWC project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and submit required documentation for purchase requests supporting the Spindrift and Sculpin Contracts.
  • Maintain full accountability of all procurement requests and material deliveries.
  • Serve as the POC for local procurements and logistics requirements, including material handling and inventory control.
  • Assist in material forecasting to support both R&D and Production activities tied to the contracts.
  • Create and maintain detailed shipping documents to accurately track all material flows.
  • Research supplier status in Ivalua and support the onboarding and qualification of prospective suppliers.
  • Provide guidance to requesting parties regarding FAR / DFARS compliance requirements for procurements.
  • Prepare and submit purchase requests for timely review and approval by the PM and Project Leads.
  • Support single-source and sole-source procurement requirements, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
  • Track procurement actions from initial request through approval, fulfillment, reconciliation, and closeout.
  • Participate in recurring customer and internal meetings to provide status updates on active procurements, identify schedule conflicts and risks, and support mitigation of deliverable issues.
  • Operate forklift or other machinery to help with local material handling requirements.
  • Occasional travel between vendor and Customer sites may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 3-5 years of administrative and/or procurement experience, preferably supporting the Navy or Department of War (DoW).
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance prior to starting employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees, project leadership, government customers, suppliers, and senior management.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
  • Required to transport or lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds across the facility.
  • Requires constant use of hands/fingers to operate machinery, tools, or computer equipment.
  • Requires ability to move about the warehouse, stoop, kneel, or reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 20 ft.
  • Requires work in various temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Required to work in /or around loud production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Costpoint Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with standard Navy documentation, i.e. DD1149, DD250, etc.
  • Experience supporting Navy, DoW, or other government contracts.
  • Experience with P-Card administration, purchase requests, supplier management, and procurement tracking.
  • Experience supporting government customer meetings and providing procurement or project status briefings.

The ability to anticipate potential issues, communicate concerns early, and develop agile solutions will be critical to supporting the Leidos management team, Leidos customers, and overall success of the Spindrift and Sculpin Contracts.\

Pay Range:

Pay Range $45,500.00 - $82,250.00
