Job Description:

Global Air Logistics Sourcing Analyst: support global air freight sourcing activities, spot approval processes, rate management, market intelligence, and supplier coordination. This role partners logistics sourcing, regional transportation teams, freight control, freight forwarders, carriers, and other stakeholders to support efficient, compliant, and cost-effective air logistics operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and prepare information to support global air freight spot approval decisions.
  • Maintain and update the Global Master Air Spot Approval File on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinate spot approval files from third-party logistics providers and support communication with Freight Control teams.
  • Serve as the Global Air Freight Approval Tool contact for the Americas region.
  • Review spot shipment activity to determine when an OFA or new contract rate may be required.
  • Input provider proposals and spot quote data to support weekly impact analysis.
  • Upload weekly air freight rates into AS400 for 3M Mexico.
  • Support monthly reporting using Ship Angel, Infor Nexus and other logistics tools, including fuel-related updates.
  • Gather and consolidate regional and global air freight market insights and publish quarterly updates for leadership.
  • Compile transportation benchmark insights to support sourcing decisions.
  • Support year-over-year analysis of key air freight lanes and rate compliance activities.
  • Assist freight forwarders and carriers with collection and processing of required logistics and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing, rate, spot approval, reporting, and audit-support documentation.
  • Collaborate with global and regional stakeholders to improve process consistency, data accuracy, and sourcing visibility.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed and verified prior to start.
  • Three years of experience in logistics sourcing, air freight, transportation, supply chain, procurement, freight forwarding, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with air freight sourcing, spot quotes, rate management, or transportation procurement.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and data consolidation skills.
  • Familiarity with logistics systems such as AS400, Ship Angel, Infor Nexus, freight approval tools, or TMS, ERP with knowledge in SAP, Blue Yonder or Oracle.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring weekly and monthly deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across regions and functions.

Work Location

  • Hybrid eligible; may require travel to a 3M site at least three days per week.

Travel

  • May include up to 5% domestic and/or international travel.
