About this Linux System Administrator (Top Secret/SCI with agreement to obtain CI Poly Clearance Required) role at North Point Technology
North Point Technology is looking to hire a Linux System Administrator to support a high-priority intelligence community program. This role requires an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and a willingness to obtain a polygraph within the customer's required timeline. The selected candidate will administer and maintain Linux environments across multiple operational and development contexts, supporting both mission continuity and cloud-forward initiatives. U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities:
The Linux System Administrator will administer and maintain Linux systems across multiple program environments to support operational and development needs, including cloud initiatives aligned to evolving customer requirements. The role involves administering collaboration applications such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, and RocketChat; managing user accounts; and resolving application access issues. The administrator will monitor system performance, respond to anomalies, and independently implement configuration changes to maintain high system availability. They will coordinate with enterprise partners during outages, make failover decisions across availability zones or data centers, and perform system checkouts and test upgrades and patches in operational environments. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with security requirements in partnership with Enterprise Services, documenting incidents, root cause analyses, and corrective actions, and developing user guides and operational procedures for program tools including custom Linux scripts and tailored COTS products.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Linux system administration, including configuration management and performance monitoring
- Administration of Atlassian Jira and Confluence in an Agile collaboration environment
- RocketChat administration and user account management
- System availability management, including failover coordination across availability zones or data centers
- Patch and upgrade testing in operational environments
- Incident documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective action reporting
- Development of user guides, operational procedures, and custom Linux scripts
- Ability to work a Panama shift schedule including weekends and holidays
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- AWS or other cloud service provider experience and cloud-based architecture knowledge
- Familiarity with cross-domain architectures across multiple classification levels
- Experience with automated testing and monitoring tools
- Experience with Engineering Review Boards and Change Management processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
- CompTIA Security+ (active certification required prior to start)
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Willingness and ability to obtain a polygraph within the customer's required timeline
- U.S. citizenship required
