  • Oversee safe and efficient daily operation of assigned lifts, ticket-checking operations, and Playland Tubing.
  • Build staffing plans, schedules, and daily operating plans aligned with visitation, weather, operating needs, and labor budgets.
  • Own new-hire, lift-specific, recurrent, and safety training, and maintain required training documentation.
  • Ensure operations meet company procedures, applicable California requirements, manufacturer requirements, and other relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with Lift Maintenance, Patrol, Grooming, Mountain Operations, Guest Services, and other resort teams around openings, closures, weather events, lift interruptions, and changing conditions.

  • Use financial, labor, safety, employee, and guest-experience data to improve department performance.
  • Maintain a visible presence in the operation and step into frontline and leadership needs when conditions require it.
  • Partner with Lift Maintenance during the off-season on appropriate maintenance projects, repairs, inspections, and winter-readiness activities.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in lift operations, mountain operations, resort operations, or a related operational environment.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or management experience, preferably leading seasonal or high-volume teams.
  • Strong understanding of lift operating practices, employee training, safety, and risk management.
  • Proven ability to coach employees and develop capable frontline leaders.
  • Experience managing schedules, labor, budgets, and department performance.
  • Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound, safety-based decisions in changing weather and operational conditions.
  • Experience with lift evacuation, Lift Maintenance, or Patrol operations is a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, early mornings, and extended hours during peak operating periods.
