About the opportunity: 

At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Lifestyle Assistant, you’ll help create cherished moments and better health outcomes for residents each day.  

What you’ll bring:

To thrive in this role, you will have: 

Activity Planning: Organize and facilitate recreational and social activities tailored to residents’ interests.

Wellness Support: Assist with physical and mental wellness programs, including exercise and cognitive games.

Personal Engagement

  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to residents through conversation and shared activities.
  • Life Story Work: Encourage residents to share their life stories, fostering connections and understanding.

Family Interaction

  • Communication: Act as a liaison between residents and their families, providing updates on activities and well-being.
  • Support: Assist families in understanding the care processes and available resources.

Environment Management

  • Safety: Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment, addressing any concerns or hazards.
  • Personalization: Help residents personalize their living spaces to reflect their preferences and memories.

Administrative Support

  • Documentation: Assist with maintaining records related to activities and residents’ engagement.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare staff to integrate lifestyle programs with overall care plans.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: 

  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Clearance.  

  • Current COVID-19 certificate, proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
