How does this role contribute to our collective success?

As a Liability and Professional Lines Treaty Underwriter you will contribute to AXIS Re's success by combining technical underwriting expertise, portfolio management, market insight and relationship management to deliver profitable growth, protect portfolio quality and strengthen long-term client partnerships.

What will you do in this role?

• Deliver profitable growth through the underwriting and management of an International Liability and Professional Lines treaty portfolio.
• Contribute to the development and execution of market strategies and business plans for assigned territories and segments.
• Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships to support retention, growth and market relevance.
• Assess market developments, pricing trends and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions and portfolio strategy.
• Manage portfolio quality, risk appetite and accumulation exposures to achieve sustainable risk-adjusted returns.
• Contribute to portfolio steering and capital deployment decisions in line with AXIS Re's underwriting objectives.
• Support cross-functional collaboration with underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance and other business units to achieve optimal business outcomes.
• Represent AXIS Re in the market and promote the company's reputation as a specialist and trusted reinsurance partner.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

About You:

Required Experience and Knowledge
• Experience in underwriting Liability and Professional Lines reinsurance or insurance business.
• Ability to assess and price risks while balancing profitability and growth objectives.
• Experience in managing portfolio performance, exposures and accumulations.
• Ability to analyse underwriting, claims and financial information to formulate own underwriting opinion, supporting decision-making.
• Experience in building and managing broker and client relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, brokers and internal stakeholders.
• Team player with strong collaboration mindset.
• Professional fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
• University degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Additional language skills relevant to AXIS Re's international client base.
