About the role
As L&D Manager responsible for Scientific Capability, you will lead the design, development and delivery of high-impact scientific learning for commercial teams across the Oncology Business Unit, BioPharmaceuticals Business Unit and Rare Disease. You will work closely with Medical, Marketing, Sales and other cross-functional partners to identify capability needs, build relevant curricula and strengthen field readiness through engaging, evidence-based learning experiences. This role sits within the Commercial Excellence Department and reports to the L&D Lead.
What you’ll do
Own the scientific capability agenda across Oncology and or BioPharmaceuticals and or Rare Disease, aligned with business priorities, portfolio needs and field requirements.
Conduct learning-needs and capability-gap assessments with business and cross-functional stakeholders.
Design end-to-end curricula covering disease knowledge, product and pipeline science, clinical evidence, treatment landscape and related scientific topics.
Develop, review and facilitate engaging learning experiences for onboarding, launch readiness, continuous development and proficiency advancement.
Translate complex scientific content into practical, learner-centred materials for commercial audiences while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
Partner with Medical, Marketing, Sales and subject-matter experts to validate content and ensure relevance to local needs.
Assess learner proficiency through knowledge checks, certification, observation and other fit-for-purpose methods; use insights to strengthen future learning.
Coach managers and learners to reinforce scientific capability beyond formal training sessions.
Manage learning projects, calendars, vendors and logistics with strong quality, budget and timeline discipline.
Travel across Indonesia to deliver training, engage field teams and support capability development where it is needed.
Essential for the role
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medicine, Pharmacy or another closely related health-science discipline.
Demonstrated teaching, training or facilitation experience, with the ability to make complex scientific concepts clear and engaging.
Strong scientific acumen and the ability to learn across multiple therapy areas.
Passion for developing people and creating inclusive learning environments that encourage curiosity, practice and growth.
Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
Ability to collaborate effectively across Medical, Commercial and other functions while maintaining scientific integrity and compliance.
Strong planning, project-management and execution skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across Indonesia.
Desirable for the role
Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical education or life-sciences industry.
Experience developing scientific or product curricula for field-based commercial teams.
Exposure to Oncology, BioPharmaceuticals and/or Rare Disease therapy areas.
Understanding of adult-learning principles, blended learning, digital learning tools and capability measurement.
