About this Lead Product Manager, Customer Portal role at Veriff
About Customer Portal
Customer Portal exists to make Veriff's product sell itself. The Portal serves two purposes. It allows our customers to operate Veriff products — setting up and configuring products, consulting verification session details, reporting issues. And it is a privileged surface for customers to discover, try, buy and expand through a seamless self-serve experience, connecting product usage, onboarding and growth in one place. It unites forces with GTM to automate acquisition, upsell, cross-sell and retention, with end-to-end ownership of the customer persona. The area is evolving fast. What began as a self-serve growth surface (Station) is becoming the customer-facing window into Veriff's accuracy and fraud advantage for our largest enterprise customers.
The shape of this role
This is an IC-first leadership role, and the first genuine step into product leadership — distinct from a strong senior IC. At first you will lead through craft, authority and influence. You own the strategy, discovery, roadmap and delivery for your product area.
As you refine the strategic themes for this large product, we expect you to propose the team configuration needed to support our growth and company objectives. That will move you progressively from IC to manager, while retaining hands-on ownership of at least one part of the Customer Portal area in the mid-term. We will deliberately assess for both the IC craft bar and the latent management capability, because the role is designed to traverse the line.
What you will do
- Own the product strategy and roadmap for the Customer Portal area, tied explicitly to Veriff's commercial model and revenue drivers.
- Run disciplined, continuous discovery with customers, and translate it into well-defined problem statements and a sequenced roadmap.
- Make transparent prioritisation and trade-off calls across product ambition, technical sustainability and business urgency — especially where capability gaps mean we cannot do everything at once.
- Define success metrics before building, and hold the team accountable to outcomes, not output.
- Partner as a credible peer to Engineering, GTM, Fraud Ops and Design. Be the connective tissue that turns internal expertise into a customer-facing product.
- Own launch as a discipline from the start — internal platform releases and external GTM — not a milestone at the end.
- Set and uphold the product-craft bar. Mentor PMs and, in time, build and lead the team.
- Champion AI internally, implementing new best practices for faster product discovery and delivery.
Who you are
You are a product leader who has earned authority through the quality of your thinking rather than a title.
You have owned a product area end-to-end
- From strategy through discovery, delivery and launch. You are equally comfortable in the messy front end of a problem and in the discipline of shipping.
- You are looking for the step where your impact starts to come through others, and you are excited that this role begins as an individual leader and grows into managing a team — not the other way around.
You think commercially
- You instinctively connect what you build to how the business grows, and you explain the “why” behind a product bet in terms of revenue, retention and customer trust, not just features and flows.
You run discovery as a continuous discipline
- You get close to customers, including demanding enterprise accounts, and you can tell the difference between what they ask for and what they actually need.
- You turn that into sharp problem statements and a phased roadmap where every step delivers a real customer outcome.
You prioritise ruthlessly and transparently
- When there are more good ideas than capacity, you make the hard calls about what not to do, and you can articulate the reasoning.
- You define success before you build. When something goes wrong, you own it without deflection and change how you work as a result.
You lead through influence, not authority
- You build credibility with engineering, go-to-market, design and operations partners as a genuine peer, and you reach good decisions with people who do not report to you.
- You stay calm under uncertainty, create space for views that differ from your own, and commit gracefully once a call is made.
You raise the people around you
- You set a high craft bar through your own work, share your thinking generously and give specific, useful feedback.
- You are motivated by building and leading a team over time, with a realistic understanding that management is a different job — one focused on developing people and multiplying impact, not doing all the work yourself.
You stay current on your craft
- You take pride in tracking how product management is evolving, and you consistently find time to experiment and fold what works into your practice.
