GE Aerospace · Onsite · Evendale

Job Description Summary

Teams in the Next Generation Products space are energized with a passion for the aerospace industry and are devoted to supporting our military customers. We develop breakthrough technologies to create the future of military propulsion, continuing GE's long history of engineering excellence.

As a premier NPI, NGP1 is fast paced and setting new standards for Edison Works. The Program Mechanical Design team is a large organization with multiple sub-teams. This role is aligned to a sub-team spanning multiple commodities and design phases, including cost-out design, hardware delivery, test, certification/qualification, and technical publications. This role operates in a highly cross-functional environment, enabling rapid learning and product maturation, and will help lead the charge on FLIGHT DECK adoption within Edison Works, applying lean principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost across the NPI lifecycle.

The NGP Lead Design Engineer owns the design, development, and qualification of advanced military products, specifically hot structural components. The engineer is responsible for planning/executing technical design tasks including analysis and manufacturing support of assigned hardware in addition to program management of hardware cost, weight, and schedule deliverables. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance. This position reports to an engineering manager in Evendale, OH with the opportunity to integrate with various internal and external engineering disciplines.
