This role is responsible for Design and Implementation of the high-quality technology solutions within Accounting domain. The candidate should have demonstrated technical expertise having excellent problem-solving skills. The candidate is expected to;

• be a hands-on engineering lead involved in analysis, design, design/code reviews, coding and release activities
• champion engineering best practices and guide/mentor team to achieve high performance.
• acquire functional knowledge of the business capability being digitized/re-engineered.
• Drive AI adoption for SDLC as well as solving business problems

Your key responsibilities

•  Lead the analysis, architecture, design and implementation of high-quality, scalable technology solutions within the Accounting domain.
• Act as a hands-on engineering leader, contributing directly to solution design, coding, design and code reviews, testing, release activities and production readiness.
• Provide technical direction for applications built using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices and modern front-end technologies.
• Design robust distributed systems and scalable architectures, applying appropriate engineering and integration patterns.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native engineering practices, including containerisation, orchestration and deployment across GCP or similar cloud plarforms
• Champion engineering excellence through TDD, BDD, automated testing, performance testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Improve application reliability, performance and maintainability through effective data modelling, database optimisation, automation and technical-debt reduction.
• Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across the software development lifecycle, including LLM-based applications, agentic AI workflows and specification-driven development.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners and Architects to translate business requirements into practical and sustainable technology solutions.
• Develop a strong understanding of the Accounting business capabilities being digitised or re-engineered and ensure solutions deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Mentor and coach engineers, support technical decision-making and create an environment that enables teams to deliver consistently at a high level.
• Promote continuous learning, innovation and upskilling while supporting the professional and technical development of team members.
• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of technology delivery, proactively identifying risks, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring successful implementation.
• Keep abreast of emerging technology, architecture and engineering trends and assess their relevance to the organisation’s technology landscape.

Your skills and experience

• Core Engineering
  • Minimum 14 years of IT industry experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java and full-stack development
  • Deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., ReactJS)
  • Strong experience in databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL) and solid understanding of data modeling, performance optimization
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure) and containerization (Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, system design, and scalable architecture patterns
  • Experience in DevOps and CI/CD practices (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), with focus on automation and reliability
  • Strong focus on engineering quality (TDD, BDD, automation testing, performance testing)
  • Hands-on or working knowledge of LLM-based applications and experience of building Agentic AI workflows using Spec Driven development with tools like OpenSpec etc

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on leadership approach
  • Experience working closely with Business stakeholders, Product Owners, Architects
