Lead Engineer- Hardware Work Package

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking a Project Lead Engineer role to be part of Hardware engineering team. In this role you will be responsible for leading technical and industrial work package for RADARs and other Defense products to meet the customer requirements in term of schedule, cost and quality on your project. You also perform trade analysis of design and industrial approaches, to ensure maturity of the product.

Qualifications: B.Tech in General engineering or equivalent with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.

Higher qualifications of Post-graduation is desirable. PMI certification is desirable. Working experience in RADARs, Avionics and Defense systems design is desirable

Technical Skills and Competencies:

  • Must have strong experience in HW development work package, including all development phases (requirements, preliminary and detailed design, prototype manufacturing and test, …)
  • Must have gained experience in piloting a lot of development work.
  • Must have experience to plan the activities and guarantee the good realization
  • Must have experience to control the holding of project milestones and anticipate drifting
  • Must have experience to propose and set up rallying actions in case of drifting
  • Must have experience to manage the progress reviews of the sub-projects of the project, in liaison with the other managers of work packages
  • Must have experience to ensure the reporting of the work package to the project management team
  • Must have experience to manage risks and opportunities
  • Must be rigorous, organized, autonomous and proactive, and motivated by a position within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills on complex topics.
  • Must have good synthesis skills.
  • Must have experience of working with multi-disciplinary team (Analysis team, Electronics and Mechanical design, System engineering teams, supply chain and manufacturing teams, …)
  • Should have experience to ensure the promotion of a competitive approach throughout the development cycle.
  • Should have an understanding and use of Design to Cost tools
